Brief Project Description
Our municipality, Cainta, is well known for our native delicacies namely: Suman, Latik, Puto, Biko and Bibingka. It is widely eaten in our country because of its sweet taste and since it is usually made out of rice grains, it serves as the source of carbohydrates.
Indian slaves, which British Army brought here in the Philippines, made those delicacies a source of their income, as well as the other natives of Cainta.
Background of the Study
This native delicacy has found its place in every family’s table during special occasions and even during snack time.
This favorite delicacy is a trademark of Caintaños. The local residents of our municipality are well-known for preparing and serving delicious bibingka.
This research undertaking is aimed to present the importance of this delicacy in the economy and culture of Cainta.
The study also inquires the different programs implemented by the local government to preserve, improve and promote “bibingka” not just in Cainta but in the whole country.
